The Islam Factor

Rosh Hashana and Ramadan

Once every 30 years or so, within the span of a sunset and a moon rising, two of the world’s great religious communities unite in a way that no human effort can possibly achieve.

This year, the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and the Jewish holy month of Tishrei, which begins with Rosh Hashana and ends with the festival of Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, coincide.

In the days that follow, Jews and Muslims will look up to heaven out of a sacred desire to draw closer to G-d, the Creator of the Universe, and to reflect on and repent for those human failings that disappoint the Most Merciful and Beneficent spirit in our lives.

Jews around the world are entering a period of introspection on the deeds of the previous year, vow to do better in the year ahead, and ask for and grant forgiveness.

Muslims believe during Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, the Holy Quran “was sent down from heaven, a guidance unto men, a declaration of direction, and a means of Salvation.” These revelations continued for 10 days, starting on the night of the 27th day of Ramadan. This is the Laylat-al-Qadr (Night of Power). According to the Quran, this is when G-d determines the course of the world for the following year.

Similarly, Jewish tradition teaches that on Rosh Hashana G-d provisionally determines people’s fate for the coming year based on their behavior over the past year, but that can be modified during the 10 Days of Awe leading up to Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

The Jewish sages believe the entire world is sustained by three things: truth, justice and peace. These thus affect not only one’s destiny but the continued existence of our world.

Islamic teachings focus on remembering that we have a Maker; our lives are brief but have purpose; we are accountable for what we do; and we all shall live again and be brought back to G-d.

“It is not righteousness that you turn your faces towards East or West: But it is righteousness to believe in G-d and the Last day, and the Angels, the Book, and the Messengers; to give out of the things you hold dear to your kin, the orphans, the needy, the wayfarer, the one who asks, and to free the slave.” (Quran 2:177)

While religious holidays — particularly Jewish and Muslim holidays — are too often cast in political terms nowadays, the mutual days of prayer and reflection could help to lessen mutual mistrust and hatred. While angry headlines speak of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and sectarian….

Six Grand Strategic Objectives of Israel via USA!!!

In 1992, after the disintegration of Soviet Union, America was left as the only Super Power of the world. In the preceding years and with the removal of Bill Clinton from the Office, the Neo-Cons were elected or rather brought into Power.

After a careful study they reached to a decision “to invent pretence” that would give them a chance to ‘invade the Moslem world’ to achieve the following objectives:

1) Security and Defense of Israel

2) Capture Key Energy Reservoirs

3) Capture Global Waterways Currently in Control of Moslems

4) Defeating the Political Ideology of Islam

5) Embattlement of Russia

6) Encirclement & Containment of China

Since Israel is controlling US Foreign Policy, we should start with Number One, anybody wants to discuss in length???

Would Jesus Want To Convert Jews?

Would Jesus Want To Convert Jews?

A serious blow was dealt to the Jewish-evangelical alliance with the publication in Friday’s New York Times of a full page ad by the World Evangelical Alliance – representing hundreds of evangelical Churches, organizations, and leaders, some being among the most prominent in the country – affirming their intention to proselytize Jews.

The ad said, “The most loving and Scriptural expression of our friendship toward Jewish people, and to anyone we call friend, is to forthrightly share the love of G-d in the person of Jesus Christ…. We recognize that it is good and right for those with specialized knowledge, history, and skills to use these gifts to introduce individuals to the Messiah, and that includes those ministries specifically directed to the Jewish people.” Oh brother, here we go again. Is this really what we all need right now? Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens are slowly building an army of non-believers to ridicule global faith. Fundamentalist Muslims who assail both Judaism and Christianity are digging in against the West. And a secular and exploitative culture in America is slowly eroding the dignity of women and the innocence of children. And just when we thought that Christians and Jews could really work together to reverse this tide, we get this: Christians who profess to be the Jewish people’s friends by devoting themselves to the end of their existence as Jews.

Abusing ‘Anti-Semitism’

Abusing ‘Anti-Semitism’
by Ran HaCohen

The eve of the Jewish New Year is an excellent occasion for what Jewish tradition calls Kheshbon Nefesh, or soul-searching on so-called “anti-semitism”, which has now become the single most important element of Jewish identity. Jews may believe in God or not, eat pork or not, live in Israel or not, but they are all united by their unlimited belief in anti-semitism.

When a Palestinian kills innocent Israeli civilians, it’s anti-semitism. When Palestinians attack soldiers of Israel’s occupation army in their own village, it’s anti-semitism. When the UN General Assembly votes 133 to 4 condemning Israel’s decision to murder the elected Palestinian leader, it means that except for the US, Micronesia and Marshal Islands, all other countries on the globe are anti-semitic. Even when a pregnant Palestinian woman is stopped at an Israeli check-point and gives birth in open field, the only lesson to be learnt is that Ha’aretz journalist Gideon Levy – who reported two such cases in the past two weeks, one in which the baby died – is an anti-semite.

Anti-semitism is an all-encompassing explanation. Anything unpleasant to anti-Palestinian ears is just another instance of anti-semitism. Jewish consciousness focused on anti-semitism has taken the shape of anti-semitic conspiracy theories, like that of The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion: whereas the anti-semitic classic relates every calamity to Jewish conspiracy, Jews relate to anti-semitic conspiracy every criticism of Israel. As we shall see, this is not the only similarity between anti-Palestinianism and anti-semitism.

Jews and Arabs II

The way I see it, Muslims and Jews can (and have in the past) formed a completely complimentary relationship. Consider the following:

1. Both groups believe in the Oneness of God.
2. Practice of the Jewish religion is not claimed to be the only path to salvation, non-Jews can be righteous by following the 7 Noahide Laws.
3. There is little dispute about whether or not Muslims qualify under the Noahide laws (this is much less clear with Christians).
4. Judaism does not seek the conversion of others to this religion.
5. Muslims believe that Jews, as people of the book, have every right to continue the practice of their religion as they see fit, can not be compelled in any way to become Muslims, and need not be Muslims to succeed in this life and the next life.
6. Both are the targets of Christian prostilization attempts and at times throughout history, violent reprisals because of their different conceptions of God.

The conclusion?

Jews and Arabs

Both from the line of Shem (semites), Grand children of Abraham and sons of Ishmael and Isaac, I realized that in many cities I have been in around the USA they can live somewhat peacefully.

Although the media plays up to religious overtones in the crisis in the ME, I dont see problems between the two faiths. Also note that not all Arabs are Muslims (some are Jews and Christians). But I am talking about Jews and Muslims now.

Do you?

Israel and Palestine

QUOTE
I really feel for the people who get killed and injured in this ongoing conflict but at the end of the day the arabs lost the war. There were many brutal wars in history in which the victor was labeled as a land grabber. If we set the threshold of giving lands back to the defeated shouldn’t we go after every victor who has conquered or reconquered land in the past. Kuffaristan comes to mind.

the issue isnt the losing of the war. It is occupation.

By the logic you stated here, if the USA follows Israeli policy on right of conquest, we can kill and exile 80% of Iraq, bull doze all of their homes and build US settlements in Iraq that only Americans can live in.

Its just silly to think that Israel is in the right here.
